Big thank yous must go to all those involved in recent fundraising efforts for CCELA over the last few months.
The students at Launceston Church Grammar School have been busy fundraising for us, collecting spare change - 5c and 10c coins - in donation jars in their classrooms.
It's amazing how quickly small coins add up, with the total tally coming to $728.10 AUD. Small change and "wallet weight" to most, but a huge difference to our CCELA supported siblings, Sami & Jerry.
The students are really enjoying the feeling of supporting children less fortunate than themselves, and have named their fundraising efforts "Shine on Them". The beautiful display of the coins donated arranged as a sun in the school yard fittingly represents their project theme.
CCELA volunteers also ran a stall at the recent "My Closet Market" in Launceston - a fantastic opportunity to sell clothes generously donated to us for the occasion, and raise much needed funds for CCELA. We are looking forward to attending the next market again in November.
Being a non-government organisation, CCELA rely solely on the generosity of our supporters. If you would like to assist in our fundraising efforts, we would love to hear from you!
We are also still desperately seeking regular donations by way of ongoing sponsorship - just $30 a month ($1 a day!!)
